To be truly known might be one of the scariest things you can imagine. At your core you are made to be in relationships. So I would love to hear the story of how you came to be: where you came from and where you hope to go, what you want and what your vision for your life is, when in your life you started feeling whatever hardship you’re experiencing right now, what healing looks like and why it is important to you. I hope that you will feel truly seen and known as we meet together and better understand how you can continue moving forward in your life and find fulfillment in your relationships.

I lean toward an attachment approach with all my clients (valuing the relationship and what is happening in the room), but I like to use other evidence based approaches as well depending on what may work best for you (because no human being fits a cookie-cutter method). Outside of some of the methods I listed above, I also like to pull from Somatic Expieriencing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Sandtray using Psychodrama techniques. We can chat about what may work best for you and work together at the process.

When I am not in the office I love to spend time with my beautiful wife, Darlene, and my two boys, Logan and Evan. I also love to roast coffee, play board games or tabletop games, read fantasy or sci-fi stories, listen to/record podcasts or play tennis or pickleball! But not running…definitely not running.

To set up a first session, please click the button below or email me at MattT@NewHopeSTL.org. If you are unsure about whether or not you could benefit from therapy, or if we would be a good fit, I am happy to provide a free 15 minute consultation, either on the phone or virtually. You are also welcome to leave me a voicemail at 314-485-9278, and I will reach back out to you by phone.
