Wounded Healers
Each year, over 45% of pastors consider leaving the ministry. Join Luke Calvin, professional therapist with over 20 years experience in counseling and Christian ministry, for a group for pastors and ministry leaders experiencing burnout.
Combining wisdom from the fields of therapy and spiritual direction, we will, together, find ways to create or rebuild a sense of belonging with our people, with God, and with ourselves. The hope of this group is that the unanticipated injuries that can come with this role might heal, so that pastors might experience joy, rest, and confidence to lead as the shepherds God has created and called them to be.
This group is designed to facilitate support and healing for
the 45% of pastors who have considered leaving the ministry
pastors who want to strengthen or rebuild their sense of connection to God
pastors whose sense of identity outside of their role as pastor has been eroded or altered by the expectations and demands of ministry.
any pastor who has felt bullied, or had their dignity diminished, by congregants or other church leaders.
the pastor who is currently thriving in ministry, but wants to understand what drives him to overwork at the expense of his personal or family life
the pastor-cohort looking for a way to supplement their ongoing friendship, accountability, and support for one another
Wounded Healers begins January 2025 and will meet for twelve weeks at New Hope Counseling Center in Chesterfield. Each session will last 90 minutes, and the cost is $40 per session.
